This temple is very famous because of its two features. There used to be a forest in this area where Babu Bandhu Singh of Dumri Riyasat used to live in the forest. He used to worship the goddess by setting up pindis under a tarkul (palm) tree on the banks of the river. Tarkulha Devi was the presiding deity of Babu Bandhu Singh.
