Akbar the Great, a powerful Mughal emperor, rests in a grand and beautiful house called his “tomb.” This special house is found in Sikandra, close to Agra in India. It was built to remember Akbar and finished by his son after Akbar’s time.

The house is like a magical mix of different designs: Mughal, Persian, and Hindu. It stands in a huge garden and is mostly made from red stone, with some parts made of white marble and fancy designs.

Outside, the house has four parts that look like steps leading to a big round hat on top. The bottom parts are red, like a strong castle, and the top parts are white and covered in pretty carvings.

Inside, you’ll find a cozy room with a special bed called a “cenotaph” for Akbar. The bed is made from marble and has words from the Quran and special writings to honor Akbar.

Around the house, there are peaceful gardens, pools of water, and steps where you can sit. Other buildings are there too, like a small mosque and a house for Akbar’s wife.

The house where Akbar rests is really important because it reminds us of a great ruler from a long time ago. People from all over the world come to see this special place and remember the amazing things Akbar did.
