About

Kali Bari Temple in Shimla is one of the most revered spiritual landmarks of the city, dedicated to Goddess Kali, locally known as Shyamala—from whom Shimla derives its name. Established in 1845 by a Bengali Brahmin named Ram Charan Brahmachari, the temple was later relocated to Bantony Hill. The sanctum houses a distinctive blue wooden idol of the goddess and is deeply rooted in Bengali-style worship traditions. Apart from spiritual significance, the temple offers breathtaking views of the valley and surrounding hills.
