Known as the “Golden Palace,” Kanak Bhawan is a temple gifted to Goddess Sita by her mother-in-law, Kaikeyi, according to legend. Inside, the beautifully adorned idols of Rama and Sita, often decked in gold, captivate devotees and visitors alike.
Kanak Bhawan, located in the heart of Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, is a sacred temple dedicated to Lord Rama and Goddess Sita. According to legend, this exquisite palace was gifted to Sita by Queen Kaikeyi after her marriage to Lord Ram, hence the name “Kanak” (meaning “gold”) Bhawan.
The current temple structure was built in 1891 by Queen Vrishabhanu Kunwari of Tikamgarh and is known for its stunning architecture, golden idols, and spiritual charm. Devotees are drawn to the temple for its serene environment and deep spiritual significance.
