Devanahalli Fort is a big, strong castle that was built a very long time ago, in the year 1501. It’s like a real-life fairy tale castle, just 35 kilometers away from the city of Bangalore.

Now, this castle has a really interesting story. Many, many years ago, different kings and rulers took turns living in this castle. It’s like when you and your friends take turns playing with a toy. First, there was a person named Mallabairegowda who built it. Then, a man named Dalawai and his friend Nanjarajaiah took over the castle in 1747. After them, there were some people called the Marathas who ruled it for a while. And then, it came into the hands of a man named Hyder Ali, who was a very important leader. Finally, it was given to Tipu Sultan, who was another important ruler.

During Hyder Ali’s time, he made the castle even stronger and cooler. He added more walls and buildings to make it look like it does today. So, when we visit the castle now, we can see the amazing things that Hyder Ali did to make it special.

But that’s not all! Inside the castle, there are also some really pretty temples. Temples are like special places where people go to pray and feel peaceful. There’s the Venugopalaswamy temple, the Chandramouleshwara Temple, the Siddalingeshwara temple, and the Nanjundeshwara temple. These temples are like hidden treasures inside the castle.

So, Devanahalli Fort is not just a big, strong castle; it’s also a place with a lot of history and beautiful temples. It’s like a magical place that you can explore and learn about, just like in your favorite adventure stories.
