The ghats in Varanasi are places by the river where people do religious things. One of these ghats is called Chausatthi Ghat, and it’s dedicated to Goddess Chauatthi. A long time ago, a king named Pratapaditya built this ghat, but it got old and broken.

Then, in the year 1670, another king from a faraway place called Udaipur fixed and rebuilt the Chausatthi Ghat. It became famous because a smart person named Madhusudan Saraswati lived there. He wrote important books about philosophy and religion.

The ghat has two parts, like upstairs and downstairs. The downstairs part was made by King Digpatia of Bengal in 1830, and he built a pretty palace there. This palace is because it looks different from other buildings.

People also talk about a temple called Chaunsath Yogini Temple near the ghat. Close to Chausatthi Ghat is a place called Kashi Ashram, where wise people live and learn about spiritual things. The ashram building looks very nice too.
