In Behta, Kanpur, there’s a very old temple called Jagannath Mandir. It was built a long time ago using parts from even older temples nearby. A person named J.P. Vogel, who worked for a group that studies old things, found this temple many years ago. When he saw it, he saw that a big part of it had fallen down and the entrance was gone. Inside the temple, he found old sculptures and pretty stones that were probably used before in other temples.

Vogel thought that the temple was made by using parts from other old temples. He also saw that there were other old temples not far from Behta village. This temple has a special room where people pray, and there are two smaller rooms next to it. In front, there’s a hall with pillars. People come here to pray to Lord Jagannath, who is a form of Lord Vishnu. They think this temple is very important.
