Roopkund Lake, also known as the “Mystery Lake”, is a high-altitude glacial lake situated at an elevation of 5,029 meters in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. The lake is famous for its enigmatic collection of human skeletal remains found at its edge, believed to date back to the 9th century AD. These remains have sparked curiosity and legends for centuries, making Roopkund Lake a destination that blends adventure with intrigue.

The trek to Roopkund is one of India’s most popular high-altitude trekking routes. It takes adventurers through dense forests, alpine meadows, and snow-clad terrains, with breathtaking views of peaks like Trishul and Nanda Ghunti. The route also passes through Ali Bugyal and Bedni Bugyal, two of the most stunning high-altitude meadows in the country.
