Located near the town of Cherrapunji in Meghalaya, Nohkalikai Falls is the tallest plunge waterfall in India, dropping 1,115 meters (3,660 ft) in a single drop. The falls are fed by the Kynshi River and are surrounded by lush green forests. According to local legend, the falls are named after a woman named Likai who jumped to her death after discovering that her husband had killed and cooked her young daughter. The falls are said to be haunted by her spirit.

The best time to visit Nohkalikai Falls is during the monsoon season from June to September when water levels are highest. However, the falls can be seen year-round, with the mist and fog adding to their mystique during the drier months.
