About Pavitra Degree College in Gorakhpur

Pavitra Degree College, Maniram, Gorakhpur is a premier educational institution in Terai region of Eastern Uttar Pradesh affiliated with Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University Gorakhpur and Located on Gorakhpur- Sonauli National highway at Maniram adjacent to Gorakhpur city. The college was established at a particular juncture of the history of Poorvanchal, when the area was suffering from the scarcity of educational institution in general. As an influential and dynamic personality Shri Ram Murat Singh, a resident of the local Siktaur village, with his indomitable courage and persistent efforts, established Pavitra Degree College in the virtuous memory of his revered mother Late Pavitra Devi. Whose foundation stone was laid on Monday, 16 August 1971, by the then Deputy Home Minister, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Hon’ble Shri Ramkrishna Dwivedi.In September 1973, this college was recognised with 7 subjects of the Faculty of Arts for giving graduate level education. After that, two additional subjects in the college, Ancient History and Geography, also got permanent recognition from the UP government.
