Story of Holi
There is a very big inspirational story for our child about Holi. Holi’s name is taken from the mythological female demon known as ‘Holika’. Holika is the sister of the demon ‘king Hiranyankashyap’. Hiranyankashyap told his people that he is a god, so they had to worship him too, but his son ‘Prahlad’ don’t believe that his father is a god, because he have very faith in god Vishnu. But his father is very angry with his behavior and he told his sister ‘Holika’ about ‘Prahlad’. She told her brother that I had an idea. I will build a giant bonfire and walk into it and the bonfire cannot harm me because I have a magic power about bonfires. The king agree to her idea, Holika said ‘Prahlad’ come to my boy, she pointed to the bonfire let’s see who is the bravest and follow me into the fire, but there the god Vishnu miracle, lord Vishnu took away ‘Holika’s power and give to ‘Prahlad’ instead, there was the sudden whoosh as the caught ‘Holika’, in this trace all left her was a few glowing embers but ‘Prahlad stood in the midst of the fire and unharmed by the roaring flames. People remember this story of how good triumphs over evil, so to celebrate the victory over evil.

Holi is even among the non-Hindus and over the country. At this festival friends and family throw color water and color powder on each other to make celebrations. This two day is the long festival. In this festival all people make very delicious food and share it with each other, people also run away from others trying to put colors on them. This festival has very fun, laughter and happiness in people.
